Tablas Clone Syrah was brought over by Tablas Creek Vineyards in Paso Robles from sister winery Chateau Beaucastel in Chateauneuf du Pape around 1994. Being one of my epiphany wines as a Wine Geek this was mandatory to plant at our estate vineyard. In the Rocks District of Eastern Oregon, this clone exhibits tight dense cluster, which retain acidity late in the growing season. The Rocks District has always been a high pH site so working with a clone that brings acid to the table has been life changing because of the length and finish it brings to the wine. Velvety red fruit meets the olive tapenade Rocks funk.
Join Our Wine ClubWe call our club members Rotiesians, which is the same thing we call ourselves. Our total production is small, and our support in the Washington wine loving community is large, so the wine club is the best opportunity to ensure access to new releases before they sell out. |
